Senior leaders work hard to claim their place in the company, but how do they know when it’s time to let someone else take over the reins? No one is given a best-before date, so how are they supposed to know the best time to transition into an encore career or retirement? Senior leaders can step out too early, and they can step out too late. Getting it just right isn’t as easy as it might seem. In December 2020, Oliver retired from his professional coaching practice in order to concentrate solely on leading the Stepping Out practice.
